The Utica College Pioneers are the longest current tenants at The AUD, which they have called home since 2001.

The Pioneers are members of the ECAC-West conference under the direction of head coach Gary Heenan.

The Pioneers have compiled an overall record of 173-121-30 and a 70-68-18 record in conference play, which included regular season championships in 2004-05 and 2012-13. They have advanced to the D-III National Finals, known as the Frozen Four, for the first time in 2013, where they were eliminated by eventual national champion Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The Pioneers have led all NCAA Division Three teams in attendance for the past seven seasons, which dates back to 2006-07. The Pioneers have drawn national recognition for their annual teddy bear toss game, which donates all toys to benefit Operation Sunshine.

On December 11th, 2013, the Pioneers and the Auditorium were awarded the Division Three Frozen Four for the first time in program history.
